Public Landscape and Urbanism Studio (PLUS)

is a collaborative design practice that seeks to blur the boundaries between architecture, landscape architecture, and urban planning. Through an interdisciplinary approach, we create ecologically responsive, socially conscious, and context-sensitive landscapes that are both innovative and accessible.

At PLUS, research forms the foundation of our design process. We believe that thoughtful, evidence-based design leads to landscapes that are not only aesthetically compelling but also ecologically resilient. By integrating research, innovation, and ecological thinking into every project, we strive to restore ecosystem functions while creating meaningful public spaces that respond to the cultural and environmental character of each site.

This initiative is led by Ari Daman (Founder) and Rushika Khanna (Co-founder), with valuable contributions from members of the PLUS team at different stages of the project. We are grateful for the dedication, enthusiasm, and collaborative spirit of everyone involved.

The Ashoka Trust for Research in Ecology and the Environment (ATREE)

is a globally recognized non-profit organization dedicated to environmental conservation and socially just, sustainable development. Over the past 25 years, ATREE has emerged as a leading institution addressing the complex relationships between ecological systems and human well-being through interdisciplinary research, policy engagement, and on-ground action.

Ranked among the world's leading environmental think tanks and recognized as a Scientific and Industrial Research Organisation (SIRO) by the Ministry of Science and Technology, Government of India, ATREE generates rigorous scientific knowledge that informs conservation practice, public policy, and community-led environmental stewardship. Its work bridges research with action, ensuring that scientific inquiry remains grounded in the realities of landscapes and the communities that depend on them.

Growing indigenous plants is about restoring ecosystems, one landscape at a time.

TerraWild Nurseries

is an initiative dedicated to strengthening the availability, propagation, and stewardship of indigenous plant species across India's diverse ecoregions. We are building a decentralised network of partner nurseries that cultivate regionally appropriate plants while generating ecological knowledge, building local capacity, and supporting restoration efforts.

Our approach extends beyond plant production. Through nursery incubation, ecological research, propagation protocols, and collaborative partnerships, we aim to establish resilient nursery ecosystems that serve as centres for learning, experimentation, and biodiversity conservation. By connecting nurseries, researchers, restoration practitioners, and local communities, we seek to strengthen indigenous plant supply chains, build regional seed repositories, and foster a culture of knowledge exchange around India's native flora.

TerraWild Nurseries is led by Somil Daga and Rushika Khanna, bringing together expertise in indigenous plant propagation, ecological research, and landscape restoration. The initiative is supported by Ari Daman, whose vision and patronage have been instrumental in nurturing TerraWild Nurseries and advancing ecological restoration, indigenous plant conservation, and long-term environmental stewardship across India.

Together, they are working to cultivate not only indigenous plants, but also a collaborative community committed to restoring India's landscapes with species that truly belong.
