ಮುುತ್ತುಗಾ (Muth-oo-ga)

To prepare traditional palash drink (sharbat),

1. Rinse 1 cup of Palash flowers thoroughly and soak them in water until they soften.

2. Boil the soaked flowers in 4 cups of water for 15-20 minutes.

3. Strain the liquid to remove the flowers and dissolve 1 cup of sugar in it, adjusting to taste.

4. Add 1 tablespoon of lemon juice and a pinch of cardamom powder (optional).

5. Let the sharbat cool, then refrigerate until chilled.

6. Serve the chilled sharbat with ice cubes, garnished with fresh mint leaves.
